Friends of Rio Grande del Norte National Monument
Friends Of RGDN believes that land protection can’t be fully realized without careful and meaningful land stewardship. We strive to facilitate a connection between the local community and the managing and governing agencies of our beloved National Monument. Through outreach, conservation, and access projects, we work to enhance the National Monument and the lives of the people who live, work and play in the Rio Grande del Norte.
Who We Are:
Friends of the Rio Grande del Norte is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to the conservation and stewardship of the Upper Rio Grande Valley. Through strong partnerships with local Tribes, communities, schools, land management agencies, and conservation organizations, we work to protect the region’s natural and cultural heritage. Our work includes youth education through the Outdoor Academy, collaborative stewardship projects like trail and fence restoration, community listening sessions, and advocacy for public land protections. Together with our partners
we are building a more connected, inclusive, and resilient landscape for generations to come.
