BACKCOUNTRY HUNTERS AND ANGLERS STEWARDSHIP WEEKEND
June 26 to 28
Join Friends of the Rio Grande del Norte and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers for a weekend of stewardship on the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument near Tres Piedras.
Volunteers will help remove and modify fencing that creates barriers for elk, pronghorn, and mule deer, improving wildlife connectivity across thousands of acres of public land.
This year's projects will focus on removing outdated net wire fencing along the Colorado and New Mexico state line and improving fencing near San Antonio Mountain with wildlife friendly lay down fence designs. These efforts help wildlife move more freely across the landscape while supporting working lands and grazing operations.
Friends of the Rio Grande del Norte is also excited to partner on the weekend's fly fishing opportunity. Participants will have the chance to explore the beautiful streams of the Cruces Basin Wilderness while learning…
